Mimolette was created in the 17th century during the war between France and Netherlands. Louis 14th asked his Minister Colbert to find a solution to not import Edam cheese from the Netherlands.
Coming from northern France, Mimolette has a surprising sweet taste that reminds caramel, and has a long creamy after taste.
It’s not recommended to eat the rind of Mimolette.
橙紅色的Mimolette 芝士在17世紀源於荷蘭。但因為政治貿易理由,法國開始本土生產直至現在。現在這芝士是來自法國北部,經過18個月室溫和濕度控制儲存,芝士味道變得濃郁(榛子)和堅硬。我喜歡配合較乾身的紅酒甚至白酒。
